What are the funds used for?
Hospice: Covers non-covered medical supplies such as briefs, gloves, wipes, and air pressure mattresses; massage therapy for clients and family; the salaries of our hospice chaplain, bereavement coordinator, and volunteer coordinator; the grief support program as a whole; volunteer recognition; fundraising supplies; education for staff; our newsletter; and to cover the cost of an uninsured clients or those who cannot financially afford insurance co-pays.
Palliative Maintenance Program: A shared homecare/clinic based program offered to individuals who suffer from an incurable chronic condition. The goal is support for the patient and family dealing with advanced illness, regardless of the choice to receive curative or palliative treatment. May be receiving TPN, dialysis, transfusions, chemo, or radiation while on services. Services include MD/NP, RN, SW, Chaplain, 24/7 call center and bereavement services. Service area is a 30 mile radius of Hibbing.
