Organization/Membership
Mission for the Next Century
Our Chamber was organized in 1905. Like most Chambers the Hibbing Area Chamber of Commerce is a membership organization that is primarily funded by membership dues. It has grown to a record 500 members, with nearly 1/2 of that growth occurring in the last 5 years. Membership consists of businesses and organizations of all types and sizes including small business, manufacturing, mining, medical, retail, professional, non-profit, educational, services and construction, etc.
Growth, diversity and changing economics drive current efforts to include a new array of services and support to members and the community. The Chamber proudly leads with innovative programs that embrace the changes of a new era.
The Chamber's Board of Directors provides volunteer leadership through policy-setting, program development, advocacy and representation. Committee Chairs are approved each year by the new Chair of the Board. Chamber members may sign-up for committee participation at any time.
The Chamber has 3 professional staff persons and is officed in the U.S. Bank Building, 211 E. Howard St. It provides a variety of community and business information and assistance to visitors, residents and prospective new businesses, as well as members. The Chamber also produces several publications each year which provide information on the area, its people and businesses. The Chamber is open Mon-Fri., 8:00 AM-5:00 PM.
